Working with
I offer 1-1 therapy sessions in my clinic spaces in Hove and Brighton, as well as ‘walking and talking’ sessions either on the beach, local woodlands or the South Downs. This provides a space to talk and be listened to, and to explore the existential difficulties related to our day-to-day lives, the changing seasons of life and relationships, as well as in relation to ecological and societal collapse.
I enjoy the existential ‘lens’ through which to work because it gives an openness and authenticity to conversations, not shying away from difficult topics or attempting to ‘fix’ our painful experiences. Rather, it lays bare all that we may encounter, and all the parts of who we may be and what we may experience, with all its messiness and complexity. I also believe that by reconnecting with the more-than-human world, we can share our pain, grief and difficulty and find comfort in the seasons and cycles of nature and our interdependence.
My role is to be beside you and with you in your difficulties, to enable you to ‘lean into’ feelings of distress, despair and grief, and together, to map out ways in which you might find meaning and navigate these challenging times.
